Emergency Services/Energy Conservation

For those who qualify, the PECO Energy Matching Energy Assistance fund is available to assist applicants who are about to lose their PECO service, or whose service has already been terminated.

Energy Conservation programs include the PA American Water program "Dollar Energy" and the Aqua  Water program "Helping Hands".  These programs are designed to assist qualified applicants who are having trouble paying their water bills.

Eligibility

PECO Energy Matching Energy Assistance Fund

  • Services have to have been terminated or in threat of termination by PECO.
  • Household income must not exceed 175% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
  • Services have to have been terminated or in threat of termination.
  • Assistance is limited to once every 2 years.
  • Applicants name must be on the bill or shut off notice.

Energy Conservation:  Dollar Energy/Helping Hands

   Dollar Energy - PA American Water

  • If no payment within last (90) days of application, a required payment of $100.00 must be applied to account by customer and $50.00 for seniors over age 62.
  • The name on account must be that of an adult currently living in the home.
  • Household income must not exceed 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
  • Balance on account not less than $100.00; seniors age 62 anver may have a zero balance but not exceeding credit.

   Helping Hands - Aqua PA Water

  • Household income must not exceed 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
  • Balance on account not less than $110.00, 21 days past due.
  • Only the name on the account can apply.
  • A "Good faith" payment and month payments will be established by the water company.

What Does the Program Provide?

PECO Energy Matching Energy Assistance Fund: For qualified applicants CADCOM’s REACH will pay up to $250 per unit (gas and/or electric) and PECO will match that amount.  Applicant has to pay reconnection fee and any amount over $500 or balance after grant has been applied.

Dollar Energy/Helping Hands:  Helps qualified applicants make payment arrangements with the water company.
